So I needed somewhere nice to go and do some work. Local library? Nope, doesn't have seperate tables. Local park? Nope, might get windy. Dad's house? Yes but could get distracted by his gorgeous little dog called Doffie.
Hmmmmmm. Yes. Oh yes. I know where I'll go. It involves my own table. It involves other people bussling around me so I don't feel isolated. And most importantly it involves a DELICIOUS slice of heaven that I can eat as a "study treat".
This treat is kind of naughty, but it's still in the good category. Even though it's naughty it's still giving my body NUTRITION. Even though it's naughty it's made of HIGH QUALITY ingredients and no fillers or additives. Even though it's naughty I do not feel SICK after eating it!
Oh yes, it's my friend the "CaRAWmel" slice. It's a deliciously long caramel slice made by a company called Rawsome that stocks many cafes and shops around Perth, most notably the Miss Maud cafés.
Now bearing in mind I do not NORMALLY like caramel slice, nor do I normally like cafés, because both are usually full of gluten, dairy and sugar (and most often all three at once) and, pun intended, it's not really my cup of tea.
But ever since Miss Maud's starting stocking Rawsome I make it my BIZZNESS to go there! I'm out and about and I can easily grab a tasty treat that is gluten free, dairy free, processed sugar free, paleo and (sometimes) vegan!
Holy heck this gets me excited! So I can sit at a cafe munching on my treat and look like....a normal person!!! Note: if you get addicted to these treats and sometimes they run out it can kind of dampen your day! But luckily that's only happened to me once.
Miss Maud's stocks CaRAWmel slice, a minty one, a moon rock one, mini donuts and a few others. Other cafés have different stock. My favourites are BY FAR the CaRAWmel slice and the minty one. I find them both the best value AND the best taste!
When you enjoy one of these tasty babies, you will note that they cost...ALOT but I do believe you get what you pay for. Most cakes etc mainly consist of flour and sugar which are very refined, offer no nutrients and are very CHEAP. One of the main ingredients in Rawsome foods is Cacao. Cacao is full of magnesium AND carries MASSIVE antioxidant power (scores highest on the ORAC table of any food). Best of all, they're RAW which means the nutrients are all ready and waiting to "get in your belly"!
Nom nom nom....
